3 killed as car hits tree in Deoria
Gorakhpur, April 30 -- Three youths were killed and two others sustained injuries when a car crashed into a tree in Deoria district late on Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday. The victims, who were residents of Gopalganj in Bihar, were going to attend a wedding when the accident took place near Haji Market, close to Baghauch Ghat. Police said the driver of the Swift car lost control of the vehicle, which went off the road and hit a tree.
Station house officer (SHO) Arvind Kumar said three occupants died on the spot due to the impact. Two others were critically injured and were taken to Maharishi Devrahva Baba Medical College for treatment. Their condition remains serious. The deceased were identified as Kiran Kushwaha, 15, Amit Kushwaha, 17, and Amit Kumar, 20, all residents of Champaran in Bihar.
Police said preliminary findings suggest overspeeding may have caused the crash....
