3 held from Hry, total arrests now 9
Dehradun, July 3 -- Dehradun police has arrested three more accused, including the prime suspect, from Haryana in connection with the murder of a man during a violent clash over an irrigation dispute in Bairagiwala village last month, taking total arrests in the case to nine, police said.
SSP Ajai Singh said the prime accused, Aman, along with his associates Sajev and Azam, was apprehended from a hotel on the Yamunanagar Highway in Haryana after police teams carried out sustained raids across multiple states to trace the accused.
The case relates to an incident on the evening of June 13 in Bairagiwala village, where a dispute between two groups over the release of water into agricultural fields escalated into a violent clash. According to police, members of one group allegedly assaulted three brothers - Ashok Kumar, Vinod Kumar and Rajesh Kumar, all sons of Bhagwat Prasad, with sticks and other weapons. The injured were rushed to Lehman Hospital by villagers, where Vinod Kumar succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
