LUCKNOW, Oct. 3 -- Land acquisition for the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) has crossed the halfway mark. Of the total approved 56,662 acres spread across 33 villages, 28,874 acres of land has been acquired till October 1, the state government said on Friday. In the last 10 months alone, 7,026-acre land was added - 616 acres in September itself. The Yogi government's ambitious plan to turn parched Bundelkhand into Uttar Pradesh's next industrial hub is finally moving from blueprint to ground, said BIDA on Friday. The industrial development authority is being developed in two phases - 35,298 acres in Phase-I and 21,364 acres in Phase-II. Officials said the acquisition has created the land bank needed for industrial, commercial and logistics growth in the backward region. According to the BIDA, focus is now on the 2,320-acre activation area, with 1,000 acres taken up on priority. Draft sector plan is ready and final nod will come after master plan approval, said the state government. The package includes 132 KV transmission line, 30 MLD water trunk line, roads, storm water drains, power duct, cycle track, avenue plantation, administrative building & ICCC, entry gate, overhead tanks and 33/11 KV sub-station. DPRs are ready and under scrutiny, BIDA said. BIDA is going cluster way-separate zones for data centre/IT, chemicals and defence. For IT alone, 1,000 acres have been earmarked, 810 acres of which already acquired. Many auto majors, defence PSU, drone makers besides IT and healthcare sectors have evinced interest for investment. Connectivity is being stitched together with Centre's help - Agra-Gwalior six-lane expressway, Delhi-Mumbai rail link, multimodal cargo park and Defence Corridor linkage....
