22-year-old labourer killed as Hydra topples during tree-cutting work
LUCKNOW, Sept. 7 -- A 22-year-old labourer was killed after a Hydra vehicle overturned while lifting eucalyptus wood during tree-cutting work at a primary school in Mohanlalganj area here on Sunday, police said.
The deceased, Sonu, a resident of Mau village in Mohanlalganj, was working at the primary school in Dhanwara village during the tree-cutting operation. Police said the work was being carried out after permission was granted by the Mohanlalganj sub-divisional magistrate.
According to preliminary information, a Hydra vehicle (UP32 WN4434) was being used to lift the cut timber when it allegedly became unbalanced and overturned, falling on Sonu and seriously injuring him.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident and took Sonu to the local community health centre, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police said the body had been sent for the post-mortem examination and inquest proceedings were underway. A case under relevant sections will be registered after a complaint is received, officials said....
