GORAKHPUR, June 14 -- A viral video that surfaced in Deoria on Saturday has prompted police to launch an investigation after two youths were reportedly abducted, assaulted and forced to perform degrading acts by a group of men. According to a complaint lodged by Sadan Sah at Madanpur police station, the incident occurred when he and his friend, a resident of Varanasi, had gone to a local market to purchase refreshments for labourers working at a construction site. The complainant alleged that around half a dozen youths intercepted them and forcibly took them on motorcycles to an orchard near Mohra village. There, nearly 10 individuals were allegedly waiting and proceeded to assault the duo. The attackers forced the victims to touch their feet, apologise, and lick their spit while recording videos of the ordeal, he added. The victims claimed they were repeatedly beaten and threatened during the incident. They were rescued after nearby shepherds heard their cries for help and rushed to the spot, prompting the accused to flee. The video, which later surfaced online, purportedly shows the two youths being thrashed and pleading for mercy. Police said they have taken cognisance of the footage and initiated an inquiry into the matter. Madanpur SHO Nand Prasad, said: "The matter has come to our notice. A complaint has been received, and the viral video is being examined. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest all those involved. Strict legal action will be taken against the accused."...
