2 radiologists killed after tree falls on bike
Lucknow, May 1 -- Two young radiologists were killed after a massive tree collapsed on their motorcycle near Dilkusha Garden in the Cantonment area on Thursday morning, police said.
Station house officer (SHO) Gurpreet Kaur said the bodies have been handed over to the families after post-mortem examination.
"No complaint has been received so far," she added.
"The deceased have been identified as Ravi Shankar Pandey (28), a resident of Basti district, and Bal Krishna (27), from Mau district. Both were working as contractual radiologists at the Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute and lived in the Balrampur Hospital campus," said assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Cantt Abhay Pratap Mall.
According to police, the two were heading to the institute on a motorcycle around 8 am when the incident occurred.
As they reached near Dilkusha Garden, a large tree suddenly uprooted and fell, bringing down another tree with it and trapping the riders underneath.
They were rushed to Civil Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Police said further action will be taken based on any complaint from the families....
