2 killed in separate electrocution incidents in Pratapgarh
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 6 -- Two separate electrocution incidents in Pratapgarh district claimed two lives on Wednesday morning, while another person was injured trying to rescue his elder brother from an electric shock, officials said.
The first incident occurred around 6:30 am in Daschaura village under Raniganj police station limits, where 45-year-old Aniruddh Kumar Gautam was allegedly electrocuted while unplugging a fan from an electrical switchboard after waking up. His younger brother, 28-year-old Shashi Kumar Gautam, rushed to rescue him but also suffered an electric shock while trying to pull him away from the switchboard. Family members rushed both to the Raniganj Trauma Centre, where doctors declared Aniruddh brought dead. Shashi is undergoing treatment.
In the second incident, 18-year-old Amit Kesarwani allegedly died after a handpump became electrically charged in Nayapurwa Medhawa village under the Lalganj Kotwali area.
According to family members, Amit was drawing water from the handpump on Wednesday morning when it suddenly became live with electric current, critically injuring him. He was taken to a trauma centre, where doctors declared him brought dead....
