PRAYAGRAJ, June 12 -- A sudden change in weather accompanied by a severe storm late on Wednesday night claimed the lives of two elderly residents in villages under the Nawabganj police station area of Pratapgarh. The incidents occurred in Jhotwara and Aparbal ka Purwa villages, where strong winds uprooted trees and caused widespread damage. In Jhotwara village, 60-year-old Ramdei, was sleeping outside her house when a nearby Peepal tree collapsed on her around midnight. In a similar incident in Aparbal ka Purwa, 65-year-old Rammanohar was sleeping outside his residence when a Neem tree fell on him. Police reached both locations, took custody of the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examinations....
