VARANASI, Sept. 14 -- Two alleged cyber fraudsters, including a former bank employee, were arrested from Odra Road in Chandauli on Saturday by Dhanapur police and the cyber team. Rohit Kumar, a former Axis Bank employee who allegedly opened around 300 accounts, and Ashish Vishwakarma were arrested. Pol ice recovered two mobile phones, a forged Aadhaar card, an ATM card and a chequebook. Police said victims were allegedly lured into opening zero-balance accounts for government schemes and their OTPs, ATM cards and account details were obtained. The accounts were then allegedly used to receive money from cyber fraud involving fake Pradhan Mantri Mudra Loan websites and advertisements. ASP Ananth Chandrashekhar said a case was registered under sections 319(2) and 318(4) of the BNS and section 66 of the IT Act. Investigation of four accounts has found 18 inter-state NCRP complaints linked to cyber fraud proceeds. Police are examining around 300 accounts opened by Rohit. The accused allegedly forwarded account details to associates in Mumbai, who withdrew and shared the money. Forged Aadhaar cards were used to evade detection. A 70-year-old man died after sustaining severe injuries when a rain-weakened mud wall of his house collapsed on him in Palra Barai village under the Kunda Kotwali area of Pratapgarh on Saturday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Jagannath Gautam. According to family members, Gautam had finished his meal and was resting at home when the mud wall, allegedly weakened by continuous rainfall and dampness, suddenly gave way and collapsed on him. SHO of Kunda Kotwali Arvind Kumar Singh said that the body had been sent for post-mortem after the elderly man, who had been injured when the wall collapsed on him, succumbed to his injuries....
