2 found dead in 2 Nainital areas; suicide suspected
Haldwani, July 3 -- A 60-year-old farmer and a 17-year-old Class 12 student allegedly died by suicide in two separate incidents in Nainital district, police said.
In the first incident, the farmer allegedly shot himself with an illegal country-made pistol at his residence in the Bhowali area, police said.
"It was revealed during the preliminary investigation that he allegedly shot himself with a country-made pistol. Hearing the gunshot, villagers rushed to the house and shifted him to Dr Susheela Tiwari Government Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead," superintendent of police (Crime) Dr Jagdish Chandra said, adding that the pistol had been seized.
In another incident, a 17-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Lalkuan on Wednesday evening.
SHO Brijmohan Rana said preliminary probe suggests that the teenager had been undergoing treatment for mental health-related issues in Delhi. However, police said the exact reason is yet to be ascertained....
