VARANASI, March 16 -- Two persons, including a minor and a teenager, drowned in the Ganga at Tulsi Ghat under the Bhelupur police station area here on Sunday. Following the incident, bystanders present at the ghat alerted the police. Police said the deceased were identified as 12-year-old Ayush and 18-year-old Nikhil, residents of Gorakhpur. They had ventured into deeper waters and drowned within moments. Upon receiving the information, teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Water Police reached the spot and immediately launched a search operation. A family of around 15 members had come from Gorakhpur to Varanasi for sightseeing and to take a holy dip in the Ganga....
