LUCKNOW, June 8 -- Seventeen faculty members from Lucknow University and two from the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) have been included in SciRank Global's list of "World's Top 5% Scientists, according to press releases issued by these two universities on Sunday. "This list comprises faculty members currently serving at the university," said Prof Geetanjali Mishra of Lucknow University. From the department of physics, the list includes Prof Poonam Tandon (now vice chancellor at DDU Gorakhpur), Prof Rajiv Manohar, Prof AK Singh, Prof. Chandrakiran Gautam, Prof Amritanshu Shukla, Prof Vivek Kumar Singh, and Prof Satendra Pal Singh. From the department of chemistry, the list includes Prof Narendra Kumar Singh and Dr Shashi Bala; from zoology, Prof Monisha Banerjee; from biochemistry, Prof. Siddharth Kumar Mishra and Dr Ashutosh Singh; from statistics, Prof. Shashi Bhushan; from mathematics and astronomy, Prof Rajendra Prasad; and from botany, Prof. Shalini Srivastava, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, and Dr Ajey Singh have secured positions on this list. Prof JP Saini, Lucknow University vice chancellor, congratulated all the scientists. The two APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University faculty members on the list are Prof Arun Tiwari (head of the mechanical engineering department at IET) and Anuj Kumar Sharma (associate professor of Mechatronics at the Centre for Advanced Studies).
