Haldwani, April 9 -- A special court under the protection of children from sexual offences (Pocso) act has granted permission for the abortion of a 16-year-old rape survivor under the jurisdiction of Mukhani Police Station in Haldwani, officials said on Wednesday. Police said the fetus will be preserved during the medical procedure so that DNA samples can be collected as part of the investigation. According to police, the incident came to light after the teenager complained of abdominal pain.
