LUCKNOW, Aug. 24 -- A 16-year-old student was killed late Saturday night when the motorcycle he was riding with two friends crashed into a divider on G20 Road in Gomti Nagar Extension.
The teenager, identified as Harsh, was returning from Ekana Stadium after watching a match when the motorcycle lost control, police said. In a tragic turn of events for the family, Harsh's elder brother had also died in a road accident approximately 18 months ago.
According to police, the accident occurred around 11 pm on August 22. Harsh was travelling with his friends, Adarsh, 19, and Govind, 17, both residents of Mulayam Nagar, when their motorcycle rammed into the divider.
"The three were rushed to Lohia Hospital after police and local residents reached the scene," a police official said. "Doctors declared Harsh dead on arrival, while Adarsh and Govind were subsequently moved to private hospitals by their families for treatment."
Harsh's father, Jaikaran, a carpenter originally from Lakhimpur Kheri, lives with his family in Saroj Vihar, Mulayam Nagar. He told police that his son was a Class 10 student at a private school. Jaikaran recounted that he had spoken to Harsh by phone at approximately 10:30 pm while the teen was returning from the stadium. Shortly thereafter, the family received news of the crash. Police have completed the panchnama (inquest report) and sent the body for a post-mortem examination....
