VARANASI, Oct. 27 -- Police from Cantt police station and the SOG-2 team arrested 15 people allegedly involved in gambling at a park near a hotel in the Buddh Vihar locality under the Cantt police station area on Monday. Cash worth Rs 1,45,400 and playing cards were recovered from the spot, police said. A case has been registered under Section 13 of the Public Gambling Act, and further legal action is underway. Three men, including alleged kingpin Harikesh Pandey alias Rishikesh, Anjani Kumar and Vedant Maurya, were arrested near Dudhi railway station complex road at 6.40 am on October 25. Police linked a Satya Sanatan Trust bank account to 35 cyber fraud complaints, involving suspicious transactions worth Rs.2.37 crore, detected through the JMIS portal on October 16, 2026. Three mobile phones were seized. A case under BNS Sections 318(4), 336(3), 338 and 340(2), and IT Act Section 66D, was registered. The accused were produced before the court....
