14 named, 100 unidentified TGT-PGT aspirants booked for disrupting traffic
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 31 -- Police have registered an FIR against 14 named individuals and approximately 100 unidentified TGT-PGT aspirants for allegedly blocking traffic and damaging a police barricade during a protest at Eklavya crossing in Civil Lines on Thursday.
The aspirants were demanding an opportunity to participate in the recruitment process for trained graduate teachers (TGT) and postgraduate teachers (PGT) in government-aided secondary schools under the old recruitment rules.
In his complaint, sub-inspector Mayankdhar Dwivedi alleged that protesters placed barricades at the crossing, disrupting traffic and damaging a government barrier. He further alleged that the blockade caused a traffic jam, leaving an ambulance stranded.
The individuals named in the FIR include Ashutosh Pandey, Rinki Chauhan, Abhishek Shukla, Akhilesh Verma, Kapil Dev Verma (alias KD Verma), Praveen Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Bhawna Singh, Bhawana Singh, Anoop Tripathi, Ranjan Kumar, Shashikant, Himanshu Agrawal and Abhishek Dwivedi.
SHO (Civil Lines) Ramashray Yadav stated that the case was registered late Thursday night for holding an unauthorised protest despite prohibitory orders, blocking roads, using abusive language, and obstructing public servants from discharging their duties.

Upon their return, they were denied re-entry, though some protesters remained inside. Administrative officials informed the aspirants that they could stage their protest at a location of their choice but would not be permitted to hold a sit-in inside the directorate.
The candidates remained at the main gate amid a light drizzle until approximately 2 p.m. before marching to the Eklavya crossing. Wearing saffron scarves, they blocked traffic and draped the scarves around themselves like shrouds.
Police and administrative officials cited prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and demanded the protesters disperse, warning of strict action if they refused. The protesters, however, remained adamant, stating they would clear the road only if granted permission to return to the directorate to resume their sit-in and present their demands to the concerned officials....
