1.62 lakh schools participate in SHVR
LUCKNOW, Oct. 6 -- Widespread participation has been observed in an effort to promote cleanliness and a green environment in UP schools as they participate in the 'Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating' (SHVR) 2026-27.
As of October 5, the process began in 1,86,196 of the state's 2,66,408 schools. As many as 1,79,793 schools have registered and 1,62,054 schools have completed their participation. The state's final completion rate has been recorded at 60.83%, a spokesperson said.
The status of SHVR 2026-27 highlights the extensive engagement of Uttar Pradesh schools regarding cleanliness, green surroundings, and environmental awareness. Many districts in the state have demonstrated remarkable performance.
School participation is tracked through the SHVR initiative, based on specific activities and standards designed to foster clean and green environments within schools. District-wise reports reflect the status of schools across all 75 districts of the state.
In terms of district-wise data, Kanpur Dehat ranks first in the state with a final completion rate of 83.17%. Out of a total of 2,876 schools in the district, 2,392 have achieved completion status. Muzaffarnagar ranks second with 82.24%, followed by Bhadohi in third place with 77.62%. Kaushambi (75.22%) and Lalitpur (73.78%) round out the top five.
Based on the final completion rate, the top 10 districts are Kanpur Dehat (83.17%), Muzaffarnagar (82.24%), Bhadohi (77.62%), Kaushambi (75.22%), Lalitpur (73.78%), Barabanki (73.52%), Rampur (71.90%), Mau (71.50%), Bulandshahr (70.25%), and Saharanpur (68.90%).
"SHVR is an effective medium for making schools proactive regarding cleanliness and environmental standards. Widespread participation will accelerate positive change towards achieving clean and green schools," said Monica Rani, director general, school education, Uttar Pradesh.
The state government has asked officials in 15 districts, including Lucknow, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad and Kanpur Nagar, to expedite onboarding of teachers and completion of sensitisation videos on the PRASHAST 2.0 app used for early screening of children with disabilities....
