LUCKNOW, June 8 -- Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has deployed 1,014 buses and launched special shuttle services to facilitate the movement of candidates appearing for the Uttar Pradesh Constable Recruitment Examination-2026, scheduled to be held on June 8, 9 and 10 in two shifts across Lucknow. Officials said elaborate transport arrangements have been made in view of the large number of candidates expected to travel to the state capital for the offline written examination being conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board for the posts of Civil Police Constable and equivalent categories. According to transport department estimates, around 1,35,936 candidates from various districts of Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states are expected to reach Lucknow during the examination period. The highest number of candidates are likely to arrive from Madhya Pradesh (31,831), Agra (12,000), Ambedkar Nagar (10,000), Jaunpur (10,000), Mainpuri (9,936) and Kanpur Nagar (9,379). UPSRTC regional manager Vimal Rajan said that a total of 1,014 buses from various depots in Lucknow region will remain operational during examination days.
