LUCKNOW, Aug. 24 -- Robotic surgery will enhance surgeons' capabilities, not replace them, said Dr Anil Khanna, chairperson, Robotic surgery, Ajanta Hospital and IVF Centre, at a state level refresher course and CME organised by the IMA Lucknow branch on Sunday. Speaking on "Will Robots replace surgeons?- The truth behind Robotic surgery," Khanna said robotic platforms provide 3D visualisation, up to 10x magnification, and highly precise instrument movements, helping surgeons perform complex procedures through smaller incisions, stated a press release shared with the media on Sunday. "Robots are the servants of surgeons. The surgeon decides what needs to be done, while the robot helps execute those movements with greater precision," he said.
