'Resolve land related disputes sans delay or face suspension'
GORAKHPUR, Aug. 19 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday issued strict directions to officials over negligence in resolving land-related disputes, warning that officials could face suspension if they failed to ensure access to a road for a woman.
During the Janata Darshan at Gorakhnath Temple, an elderly woman from the Gorakhpur division complained that influential people were preventing her from accessing a road and allegedly threatening her, telling her that she could complain wherever she wanted.
Taking serious note of the complaint, the CM directed senior administrative officials to ensure that the woman was provided proper access to the road.
"If the lekhpal, revenue inspector (kanungo) or tehsildar consider themselves helpless in getting her a way, suspend all of them," the CM said, directing officials to take strict action against personnel found negligent in handling land-related cases.
He said disciplinary action, including suspension, should be considered depending on the seriousness of the matter. "Laxity or negligence at any level will not be tolerated," he stressed.
During the Janata Darshan at Mahant Digvijay Nath Smriti Bhawan, the chief minister listened to the grievances of around 200 people. He personally received their written complaints, examined them and directed officials to ensure their timely resolution.
Adityanath assured the complainants that they need not worry and that the government stood with every person in distress. The chief minister also instructed officials to ensure that genuine grievances were resolved promptly so that people did not have to make repeated visits to government offices....
