LUCKNOW, Sept. 6 -- The indefinite sit-in protest led by MP and chairman of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee's Scheduled Caste Department, Tanuj Punia, entered the fifth day on Saturday. The protesting leaders were demanding quashing of FIR filed against leader of opposition (LoP), Rahul Gandhi. "The FIR (first information report) is an action driven by malicious intent. Instead an FIR be registered and strict action taken against BJP leaders and workers who performed a "purification ritual" on the stage following the public meeting held by Congress national president and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, in Haldwani, Uttarakhand," said Punia.
