'Operation Vatsalya': Police enrol 120 underprivileged children in schools
Agra, May 24 -- In a unique social initiative, Hathras Police has identified children who were not attending school and helped enrol them in nearby government schools while also providing them with school bags, uniforms, shoes and other essential items. The campaign, launched on May 15 as 'Operation Vatsalya', has so far helped enrol 120 underprivileged children in government schools across the district. According to Hathras SP Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, the children admitted under the initiative are also being regularly monitored by the police.
Speaking about the campaign, SP Sinha said it is important for society to ensure that children are not deprived of education because of financial difficulties.
"For the well-being of society, it is important that the younger generation gets full opportunity to grow and is not deprived due to financial constraints. Through Operation Vatsalya, 120 underprivileged children have been enrolled in nearby government schools," he said.
He added that the campaign is being carried out as a social responsibility initiative by Hathras police in line with the vision of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who has encouraged government departments to actively support the mission of universal education.
Police officials said admissions were facilitated in different police station areas across the district. Sahpau police station enrolled 27 children, while the women police station helped admit five children.
Chandpa and Mursan police stations each enrolled 10 children. Sadabad police station admitted eight children, while Hasayan police station ensured admission of 10 children, officials added. SP Sinha said police are not only responsible for maintaining law and order but also for protecting the future of the nation....
