'Op Sindoor validated India's joint warfare doctrine'
LUCKNOW, May 13 -- Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar (retd), former General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, on Tuesday said 'Operation Sindoor' marked a major validation of seamless coordination among the Indian Army, the Air Force and the Navy during the military operation.
He was addressing a talk titled 'Operation Sindoor 2.0: Lessons, Strategy and Prognosis,' organised by the Society for Transformative Research, Integration and Veterans Empowerment, India, at the Central Command headquarters here. Senior serving and retired military officers, defence analysts and veterans attended the event.
Lt Gen Katiyar, who commanded Western Command during 'Operation Sindoor', said the Integrated Air Command and Control System enabled real-time threat identification and coordinated response across multiple operational domains.
He also highlighted the Army's role in deterrence, territorial control and operational readiness throughout the operation. According to him, intelligence-led warfare, multi-domain operations and strong political will played a key role in enabling swift and effective military action. Lt Gen Katiyar stressed the need for the armed forces to adapt to emerging technologies such as drone swarms, cyber warfare, electronic warfare and hypersonic weapons....
