'Net Zero Industry' initiative rolled out in Sarojini Nagar
LUCKNOW, April 11 -- Finance minister Suresh Khanna on Friday launched 'Net Zero Industry' initiative in Sarojini Nagar under the green shift, marking a decisive transition from vision to execution. The initiative, led by BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh, represents the fourth and most critical pillar of a comprehensive, time-bound 'Net Zero' roadmap for the constituency.
'The Green Shift Industrial Excellence Award' will be conferred on World Environment Day (June 5), with a Rs 5 lakh prize for the best-performing enterprise.
"Having already conducted 9+ impactful programmes across the Tarai region and initiated the 'Net Zero' movement in the presence of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt , today's launch signifies the transition from awareness to on-ground implementation," said Singh.
With this launch, Sarojini Nagar positions itself as a model for decentralised climate action, demonstrating how local leadership, industry participation and structured planning can together drive India's transition to a sustainable future, Singh added.
The event witnessed participation from key industry stakeholders, including UP Rollers Association, Radico Khaitan, K3M Road Safety and Advertising, GPS Renewable Pvt Ltd, SLMG Beverages Pvt Ltd and Jakson Renewable.
Khanna emphasised that "prevention is always better than cure," underscoring the need for proactive measures to safeguard the environment. He highlighted that rather than waiting for challenges to arise, collective efforts must focus on anticipating and addressing environmental concerns with sensitivity and responsibility.
Minister Khanna also lauded the dedicated efforts of Rajeshwar Singh in advancing the vision of environmental sustainability. He particularly appreciated his initiative in bringing together industry leaders from across Lucknow onto a single platform, fostering dialogue and collaborative action towards a greener and more sustainable future....
