'Increasing deer numbers sign of healthy ecosystem'
LUCKNOW, April 5 -- Rajeshwar Singh, BJP MLA from Sarojini Nagar, on Saturday said the increasing number of herbivores, especially various deer species, in the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) is a positive sign of a healthy ecosystem, indicating a recurrence of the situation similar to the 1980s.
Singh described this as an effective example of environmental protection and ground-level support. He expressed these views as the chief guest at the ninth edition of the "Environment Warriors: The Guardians of the Green" campaign event organised at the Mustafabad Forest Guest House, Pilibhit Tiger Reserve.
On the occasion, bicycles were distributed to 25 forest watchers to enhance their patrolling capabilities and further strengthen forest protection. The BJP MLA also commended district forest officer Manish Singh and regional forest officer Sahendra Yadav for their outstanding work in the field of forest and wildlife conservation.
Singh also assured to provide additional water pumps for the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve through CSR funds....
