'Govt committed to connect youth with job opportunities'
Lucknow, June 20 -- Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Friday said the government is committed to connecting youth with employment opportunities and making them self-reliant.
Addressing a programme at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan for the distribution of incentives under the Prime Minister's Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, Pathak said the youth are the country's greatest strength and play a key role in nation-building. According to an official statement, incentive amounts under the scheme are being transferred to the bank accounts of around 45,000 beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh.
Pathak said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced several initiatives since 2014 to promote skill development and expand employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors. He added that a large number of young people have also been recruited into government services under Mission Rozgar.
He also said government benefits are now being transferred directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts, reducing the role of intermediaries in the delivery of welfare schemes....
