AGRA, Sept. 3 -- Samajwadi Party MP from Mainpuri Dimple Yadav on Tuesday condemned the alleged gangrape of a minor girl from the district on a moving sleeper bus in Greater Noida about a month ago, describing the incident as "extremely horrifying" and "shameful". She expressed solidarity with the victim and her family and demanded justice. In a post on X, Dimple Yadav said, "The incident of gangrape of a student from Mainpuri on a bus travelling from Noida to Delhi is extremely horrifying and shameful." "Amid claims of women's safety, such incidents expose the failure of the BJP government," she said. "In this difficult time, we stand with the victim and her family. May the victim swiftly receive justice, protection and all possible assistance, and may the perpetrators be given the harshest punishment," she added. Earlier on Monday, the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission wrote to the Gautam Buddh Nagar commissioner of police seeking an action-taken report in connection with the incident. Samajwadi Party MLA from Kisni in Mainpuri, Brajesh Katheria, also condemned the alleged gangrape with the 14-year-old girl. According to reports, the incident took place near Pari Chowk on August 4, but information about it reached Mainpuri on Monday. Two people have reportedly been arrested in connection with the case....
