Lucknow, April 13 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has directed strict enforcement of labour laws across Uttar Pradesh, stressing that workers must be ensured safety, dignity and timely wages. At a high-level review meeting on Saturday evening, the CM took note of growing unrest and protests in some industrial areas. He asked Industrial Development Authorities to initiate direct dialogue with industry bodies and unit management within 24 hours and resolve grievances through consultation. Yogi said workers must receive timely remuneration, including overtime pay as per rules. He directed industrial units to ensure basic facilities such as safe working conditions, drinking water, rest areas, sanitation, healthcare and safety equipment. Mechanisms should also be put in place to regulate working hours, ensure safety of women workers, extend social security benefits and enable prompt grievance redressal. He asked the labour department and local administration to maintain continuous engagement with industrial units to address issues at an early stage.
