'Corruption-free, development-oriented India becoming a reality'
PRAYAGRAJ, June 15 -- Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti minister and Prayagraj district in-charge minister Swatantra Dev Singh on Sunday said that the vision of a corruption-free, development-oriented and welfare-oriented India, endorsed by the people in 2014, is steadily becoming a reality under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing media persons on the completion of 12 years of the Modi government at the Centre, Singh said the Prime Minister has ushered in a new era of good governance, transparency and public service through his consistent leadership over the past decade.
Listing the government's achievements, the minister said crores of poor families have been provided pucca houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, while the Jal Jeevan Mission has ensured tap water connections to rural households. He also highlighted the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana for providing LPG connections to women, the Swachh Bharat Mission for improving sanitation through toilet construction, and the Ayushman Bharat scheme for extending healthcare coverage to economically weaker sections.
Referring to initiatives aimed at women empowerment, Singh said self-help groups, the Mudra Yojana, Jan Dhan accounts and the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam have strengthened the position of women in society.
The minister said farmers have benefited from the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, crop insurance schemes and irrigation projects, while continuous efforts are being made to enhance agricultural productivity and increase farm incomes.
He added that Startup India, skill development programmes and Mudra loans have expanded employment and self-employment opportunities for youth....
