'BJP training camps are for workers, not mafia'
PRAYAGRAJ, May 18 -- Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya attacked the Samajwadi Party on Sunday during a BJP training camp in Prayagraj. He said such programmes are meant to prepare party workers for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and a long-term political vision, not for "goons, criminals or the mafia."
Maurya made the remarks while inaugurating the Mahanagar BJP's two-day 'Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay District Training Camp' at Cantonment Palace here. He said the training programme was aimed at strengthening the party organisation beyond immediate elections and preparing workers with a roadmap extending to 2047. Maurya added that BJP workers across the country, particularly in West Bengal, have made sacrifices for the party's ideology.
Referring to remarks by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on BJP's Vision 2047, Maurya claimed that political forces backed by the SP president had faced setbacks in recent elections, which had allegedly impacted the morale of party workers.
Addressing BJP members during the camp, Maurya asserted that the party had already begun preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections and claimed even opponents were privately acknowledging their limited prospects. "Even our opponents have begun to concede that they will not get their turn to govern in 2027," he said.
Recalling the party's campaign efforts in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the 2017 and 2022 UP Assembly polls, Maurya said BJP workers had consistently delivered electoral victories through organisation and booth-level outreach.
However, he alleged that during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, opposition parties carried out malicious propaganda that affected the BJP's tally.
"Party workers must remain vigilant to counter misinformation. We need to work with the firm belief that victory in 2027 will pave the way for success in 2029," he said....
