'Ambedkar's vision being realised through welfare, infra push'
Saharanpur, April 15 -- BJP Uttar Pradesh unit chief Pankaj Chaudhary on Tuesday said the vision of BR Ambedkar for social harmony and upliftment of the poor is being realised through the policies and programmes of the Narendra Modi government.
Addressing a gathering in Saharanpur on Ambedkar's birth anniversary, Chaudhary said the Constitution and the path shown by Ambedkar continue to guide governance, and that since 2014, the Centre has worked to fulfil the needs of the poor under the slogan of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas".
The event was held to mark the dedication of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor to the nation by Prime Minister Modi, a project aimed at strengthening connectivity between Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Chaudhary described the corridor as a major boost for Saharanpur and adjoining regions, saying it would enhance development and connectivity with Uttarakhand and the national capital.
He also targeted opposition parties without naming them, alleging that despite their claims of honouring Ambedkar, he was not conferred the Bharat Ratna for decades after his death.
"The BJP ensured that Babasaheb received due recognition and today the government is working for the welfare of the poor in line with his ideals," he said.
Highlighting infrastructure growth, Chaudhary said Uttar Pradesh already has a significant share of the country's expressway network and the addition of the new corridor would further accelerate development.
He said the state has undergone a transformation since 2017 under chief minister Yogi Adityanath and the leadership of Modi at the Centre.
"Earlier, Uttar Pradesh was known for lawlessness, but today it has emerged as a growth engine of the country," he said, alleging that some groups are trying to mislead the public.
He urged people to recall the situation in the state before 2017 while taking political decisions, asserting that the changes in governance and development are evident to the public....
