'Akhilesh family's hands stained with Ram devotees' blood'
PRAYAGRAJ, July 9 -- Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya launched the Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme in Prayagraj on Wednesday, using the occasion to launch a sharp political attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav. Maurya alleged that "the hands of his (Yadav's) family are stained with the blood of Ram devotees."
Speaking to reporters after the inauguration at the District Panchayat auditorium, Maurya was responding to Yadav's reported remark that "whoever supports the BJP is anti-Ram." Maurya criticised the SP chief for having "not found time to visit the Ram Temple for darshan" and accused him of making "irresponsible and objectionable" statements.
Addressing the alleged theft of offerings at the Ram Temple, the deputy chief minister stated that an SIT probe is underway, an FIR has been registered, and the accused have been arrested. Despite this, he claimed, Yadav continues to make "baseless statements." Maurya warned that if such rhetoric persists, "Ram devotees and nationalists" will respond politically, leading to the Samajwadi Party being wiped out of Uttar Pradesh in the 2027 Assembly elections.
Commenting on speculation regarding a possible third political front following a meeting between Chandrashekhar Azad and Swami Prasad Maurya, the deputy CM dismissed the idea, stating that no new political front would impact the BJP.
He asserted that the BJP will form the government in UP for a third consecutive term in 2027 and maintain power through 2047. "When India and Uttar Pradesh become fully developed by 2047, only then should other political parties think of coming to power. The BJP is the present and the BJP is the future," he said.
Reacting to the Karnataka Congress government's demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Maurya accused the Congress of opposing Lord Ram. He recalled the party's earlier Supreme Court affidavit disputing the existence of Ram Setu.
Earlier, at the launch of the medical scheme, Maurya distributed demonstration cards to beneficiaries and transferred Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) funds to the bank accounts of nearly three lakh students enrolled in council-run schools....
