Dharamshala, July 31 -- Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple Trust and the Una district administration have initiated a multi-level inquiry into alleged irregularities in the temple's Sugam Darshan system, ordering police and administrative investigations, officials said. Officials said that an FIR was registered immediately after the matter came to the notice of the authorities. The deputy commissioner (DC) Jatin Lal appointed Una additional DC as the inquiry officer to conduct a comprehensive administrative probe and recommend procedural and administrative reforms to prevent recurrence of such incidents. The ADC has been asked to submit the report within seven days. SDM Amb and other concerned officials have been asked to assist in the investigation. According to a statement issued by the Temple Trust, assistant commissioner of the trust and SDM Amb Paras Aggarwal said steps were being taken to strengthen technical security, transparency of system. The Sugam Darshan facility, introduced in 2023, was designed to provide a convenient and organised darshan experience, particularly for senior citizens, women, children and persons with disabilities. The trust said the system had generated over Rs.12 crore in service charges so far, which had been utilised for improving pilgrim amenities and funding welfare and social assistance activities. Trust said matter was brought to the DC's notice on July 19 after a suspected irregularity was detected, following which an FIR was lodged. Employees handling the Sugam Darshan system were replaced to ensure transparency, and a three-member committee was constituted for a preliminary inquiry. During the initial technical examination of software transactions recorded on July 19, investigators found that while only 23 transactions had actually taken place, the system displayed 88 transactions. The trust said the discrepancy prima facie appeared to have resulted from the possible misuse of software login credentials by an unauthorised person.
