JAMMU, Aug. 20 -- Three members of a family were killed and two injured after a vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road and plunged into a gorge in Reasi district late Tuesday, officials said. The accident occurred near Panasa village late Tuesday night when the driver of an SUV lost control while negotiating a curve en route from Thanole to Thub village. The deceased were identified as Prem Singh, 50, his wife Turi Devi, 45, and his mother-in-law, Durgi Devi, 70. "They were found dead on the spot while two other occupants jumped out of the SUV before it plunged into the gorge," said a police officer. In the process they suffered injuries. They have been hospitalised and their condition is stated to be stable. In another accident, six people were injured on Tuesday night when a cab veered off the road and landed in roadside fields at Gundha village in Khawas area of Rajouri district.
