Search ops in Jammu region after terror input
Jammu, Aug. 19 -- A search operation was launched at multiple locations following reports of the movement of suspected terrorists in Udhampur, Reasi and Kathua districts, officials said on Tuesday.
"At 11.30 pm on Monday, two suspected terrorists knocked on the door of a villager, Parkash Chand, in Talot village of Udhampur and demanded food," said a police officer. The occupants of the house did not open the door, so the two men eventually walked towards Khuban, he added.
According to the police, the house owner alerted the police, following which a police team, along with CRPF personnel, immediately launched a search operation in Talot and Khuban villages. Security forces also launched a search in the Sadini forest area of Reasi and in several border villages of Kathua's Hiranagar sector near the international border.
While the search continued on Tuesday as well, no contact with or exchange of fire with the suspected terrorists was reported till the time of filing this report. The search operations are part of heightened vigilance amid recent inputs regarding infiltrators and suspicious movement in the region....
