Police recover 28kg of crushed cannabis powder, 1 held
Srinagar, June 12 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday unearthed an underground drug hideout in Shopian and recovered 28.968 kilograms of crushed cannabis.
Police spokesman said acting on specific information that Mohammad Iqbal Bhat of Pashpora Keegam, had concealed narcotics in an underground hideout in his apple orchards, a police party from Keegam police post conducted a raid at the location.
"During the search operation, 28.968 kilograms of crushed cannabis were recovered and the accused was arrested. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Shopian police station. Further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages and to identify other individuals involved in the illegal drug trade."htc...
