Shimla, July 10 -- A group of 27 Himachal Administrative Services (HAS) and Allied Services probationers of batch-2025 called on governor Kavinder Gupta at Lok Bhavan in Shimla on Thursday. They were undergoing a foundation course at Dr Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration, Shimla. During the interaction, the governor called upon the trainee officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency and public service, stating that an administrative officer is not merely a government functionary but a vital bridge between the government and the people. He said that the training period was crucial in shaping their administrative outlook, leadership qualities and decision-making abilities. The governor observed that Himachal, being a mountainous state, presents unique administrative challenges. Ensuring the delivery of government services and welfare schemes to citizens living in remote and inaccessible areas requires dedication, innovation and a people-centric approach. He also emphasized the need for preparedness to effectively deal with natural disasters, including landslides, cloudbursts and other challenges arising from climate change.
