NIA raids 10 locations in J&K
Srinagar, Aug. 23 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday searched 10 locations across Srinagar, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama and Budgam in connection with the investigation of a cross-border terror conspiracy involving Pak-based handlers and a network of local Over Ground Workers (OGWs) allegedly providing logistical and other forms of support to infiltrated terrorists.
NIA said that the searches were aimed at securing further documentary, digital and material evidence relating to the conspiracy and at ascertaining the roles of persons allegedly associated with the local support network.
"The case stems from a complaint registered at Zakoora police station, Srinagar, which was subsequently re-registered by NIA under Section 23 of the UA (P) Act, 1967, Sections 7 and 25 of the Arms Act, 1959, and Section 4 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908," said officials....
