Shimla, July 13 -- The district administration on Sunday closed the road leading to Sabji Mandi from Cart road for precautionary measures after a landslide, said official. The incident occurred on Sunday morning when debris, along with a tree, fell on the road near the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) headquarters, completely blocking the road and disrupting traffic movement for some time. No loss of life has been reported. A team from the district administration, police, and other departments reached the spot as soon as they received the information and initiated road clearance work. Machinery was also deployed at the site, and the work is underway. Shimla deputy commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that the road was soon cleared for traffic. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall continued across the state on Sunday.
