Jammu, May 19 -- With the arrest of five persons, the sacrilege case related to Chatroo area has been solved, Kishtwar police said on Monday. SSP Naresh Singh said the case was reported on May 8 following which an FIR under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Chatroo police station. A special investigation team was constituted. "Multiple suspects were rounded up for questioning. Through meticulous analysis of technical evidence and human intelligence, the involvement of the main accused was established," the SSP said. Subsequently, all five accused were arrested on May 15, the police said. The SSP said that a sharp-edged weapon involved in the incident was recovered following the disclosure of the accused persons. The accused have been identified as Sajjad Hussain, Din Mohammad, Mohammad Ramzan, Ghulam Hassan and Mohammad Ismail, all residents of Kawath Drubeel in Mughalmaidan tehsil. The SSP appealed to the public to maintain communal harmony and refrain from indulging in or supporting any act that hurts the sentiments of any religious community.
