jammu ACB to probe fund 'misuse' by rly officials
Jammu, May 19 -- A local court has directed the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) to probe the allegations regarding misuse of funds by five Northern Railway officials of the Jammu division. Judge Rajni Sharma stated in her May 8 order that the application was filed by a complainant through his counsel Rohan Kidar Sharma, seeking directions to ACB-Jammu in-charge to register an FIR against senior divisional engineer-1 Shubam Pawar, senior divisional engineer-IV Abhinav Garg, then Ferozepur senior divisional engineer (coordination) Anurag Joshi, senior divisional engineer (coordination) for Jammu Tawi, Dushyant Singh, and senior section engineer (drawing) Rishabh Vashisth.
The complainant alleged that the five railway officials conspired to divert funds sanctioned under two tenders related to the construction of toilets and water points for differently abled passengers from Pathankot to Jammu and up to Katra.
According to the complainant, the senior officials diverted the funds and spent them on other unauthorised works like repair and renovation of quarters and offices etc.
The complaint alleged that despite informing higher authorities about the grave irregularities, no action has been initiated against the accused officials.
Repeated calls and messages to one of the officials, Dushyant Singh, who heads the engineering department, went unanswered....
