Himachal inks pact for plannedurban growth
Shimla, March 29 -- The Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, to drive systematic urbanisation across the state.
The agreement, signed in the presence of town and country planning minister Rajesh Dharmani, tasks SPA's centre of excellence with drafting regional action plans for Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and Una.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between rural and urban areas while de-congesting existing cities. Town and country planning director Hemis Negi and SPA director Virendra Kumar Paul formalised the pact, which focuses on research-based planning tailored to the state's hilly terrain....
