Dharamshala, Aug. 17 -- A 26-year-old man from Haryana's Rewari was killed and four others injured after the car they were in hit three trucks, including two parked on the roadside, on the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane highway in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district early Sunday, police said. The deceased has been identified as Akash, and the injured as Vivek (20), Sachin (19), Praveen (27) and Piyush (19), all from Gopalpur Gazi village in Haryana's Rewari district. Police said the accident took place around 12.30am near the Alsu Chowk in Sundernagar, when Vivek, who was driving the car, lost its control and collided with two trucks parked on the roadside. The impact was so severe that the car also hit a truck moving towards Nalagarh, police said. Locals pulled all five occupants out of the car. They were taken to a hospital in Dehar, where doctors declared Akash dead. The four injured were referred to AIIMS Bilaspur, where they are undergoing treatment. Police have registered an FIR and further investigation is underway....
