Financial woes result of previous BJP govt's decisions: Chauhan
Shimla, June 17 -- Himachal Pradesh chief minister's principal media advisor, Naresh Chauhan on Tuesday blamed the predecessor BJP government for fiscal challenges being faced by the state, adding that present Congress government has undertaken major reforms and financial restructuring to improve the state's fiscal health.
"The financial difficulties being faced today are largely the result of decisions taken during the previous BJP government. Huge liabilities, including arrears of employees and pensioners, were left behind. The present government has undertaken major reforms and financial restructuring to improve the state's fiscal health," said Chauhan.
Hitting out at Union minister JP Nadda, Chauhan said that Nadda failed to secure adequate assistance for the state during times of crisis.
"We respect Nadda and are proud that a leader from Himachal holds such an important position. However, during the difficult years faced by the state, especially after the natural disasters, he should have wholeheartedly supported Himachal instead of making political statements."...
