Dharamshala, June 26 -- A couple died after falling into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district on Thursday, officials said. The incident occurred in the Lilh area of Dharwala sub-tehsil in Chamba. The deceased Gaurakh Kumar, 33, of Uhan village, and his wife, Sushma, 26, were on their way to her parental home when the accident happened, they added. Lilh is located far from the nearest motorable road and can only be accessed via narrow mountain trails along steep hillsides. Eyewitnesses said that while crossing a precarious stretch near a deep gorge, Gaurakh reportedly lost his footing and slipped. Sushma instinctively rushed to save him. However, in her attempt to hold on to her husband, she too lost her balance, and both plunged into the deep ravine. Police officials said thatthey are investigating the incident...
