CEC has no moral right to continue, says Pratibha
Shimla, Oct. 1 -- Accusing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of employing every possible tactic to shield the chief election commissioner, All India Congress Committee member and former MP Pratibha Singh said Gyanesh Kumar has no moral right to continue in his position. Singh, in a statement issued on Wednesday, demanded the resignation of the CEC and stated that he has violated the rights of the country's citizens and should, therefore, face charges of sedition. The former state party chief said it is unfortunate that the public mandate is being subverted through the CEC's unilateral decisions, especially after internal disagreements within the EC regarding the SIR (Special Summary Revision) came to light.
