Dharamshala, July 27 -- The body of a trekking group leader, who was swept away by strong currents while crossing Majhach Nala in Himachal's Kullu district, was recovered on Sunday, police said. Police said the incident happened when the group of ten trekkers was returning from the Shanag-Majhach region. The team leader, Dhananjay Verma of Udhampur in Jammu & Kashmir, was suddenly swept away by a strong current while crossing the Majhach Nullah, police said. A team from Manali police station was immediately dispatched to the spot. "The state disaster response force (SDRF) team stationed at Solang Nala was also called in to assist with the search and rescue operation. Later in the night, a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reached the spot. The police, SDRF and NDRF then jointly carried out a search and rescue operation throughout the night," the police said.
