BJP appoints observers for mayor, dy mayor polls in 3 HP civic bodies
Shimla, June 9 -- The Himachal Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed senior leaders and office-bearers as observers for the mayor and deputy mayor elections in the Mandi, Dharamshala, and Solan municipal corporations (MCs).
Official appointment orders regarding this have been issued by BJP state president Rajeev Bindal. According to the issued orders, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP state general secretary Sikander Kumar, along with state general secretary Payal Vaidya, have been appointed as observers for the Mandi MC. Both leaders will coordinate the election process for the mayor and deputy mayor in Mandi and will ensure adherence to organisational guidelines by engaging with the elected councillors.
MLA and BJP state vice president Pawan Kajal, along with MLA and former minister Vikram Thakur, have been appointed as observers for the Dharamshala MC.
For the Solan MC, MLA and BJP state vice president Balbir Verma, state vice president Bihari Lal Sharma, and state general secretary Sanjeev Katwal have been appointed as observers. BJP state president Rajeev Bindal stated that the party is committed to fully honouring the trust placed in the BJP by the people of the state during the municipal elections.
