Baramulla: Cop involved in NDPS case dismissed
Srinagar, June 11 -- A special police officer (SPO) was "disengaged" from service in Baramulla district for his alleged involvement in an NDPS case, police said on Wednesday.
The SPO has been identified as Khalid Nazir Khan (No. 3098/SPO), a resident of Katipora, Tangmarg, they added.
"During naka checking at Wussan Crossing on April 23 by Kunzer police, an Alto was intercepted. The occupants, including the said SPO, were found in a suspicious condition. During checking, syringes and needles were recovered from their possession, and silver foil paper used for the consumption of narcotic substances was recovered from the vehicle," a spokesperson said.
Accordingly, an FIR under sections 8/27/29 of the NDPS Act was registered at Kunzer police station. "In view of the serious involvement and conduct unbecoming of a member of a disciplined force, the SPO has been disengaged from service with immediate effect," a police spokesman said....
