Jammu, May 5 -- In a significant enforcement action, the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) on Monday carried out a major demolition drive along the Ring Road corridor to curb unauthorised constructions and demolished more than 15 illegal structures. "During the drive, more than 15 illegal structures, which had been raised without obtaining the requisite building permissions from the competent authority, were demolished. These structures were found to be in clear violation of approved land use norms and building regulations," said an official spokesperson. Preliminary assessments indicated that the unauthorized constructions posed a serious threat to public safety. "Many of these structures were either structurally unsound or had encroached upon critical areas, thereby increasing the risk of damage to life and property, particularly to nearby residential and commercial establishments," he said....
